Paradise Valley

The Paradise Valley walk is set in the charming region of Camacha, a picturesque area renowned for its deep-rooted folk traditions and vibrant cultural heritage. Known as one of the most authentic villages on Madeira Island, Camacha is the birthplace of the island’s folklore music and wickerwork craft, and offers visitors a delightful glimpse into the local way of life.

This easy and relaxing walk is perfect for anyone wishing to experience Madeira’s peaceful countryside. Along the 6-kilometre trail, we follow a gentle levada through a landscape of cultivated terraces, fruit trees, and small farms, where the rhythm of rural life continues much as it has for generations.

As we walk, we can observe local farmers tending to their land and admire the lush variety of plants that thrive in this fertile valley. The air is filled with the scent of eucalyptus and wild herbs, and the soft murmur of flowing water accompanies us along the way.
