The 25 Fountains Levada (PR6) is one of Madeira’s most iconic and sought-after hikes. Its name comes from the many natural springs and small waterfalls that greet you at the enchanting final destination.
Beginning in Calheta, this trail, which even passes through a tunnel, reveals breathtaking scenery and a journey filled with unforgettable moments. Along the way, you’ll discover the rich biodiversity of the Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to unique endemic flora and fauna. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature and let every step connect you with the island’s living heritage.
The highlight of the walk is the magical 25 Fontes: crystal-clear waterfalls tumbling into a serene lagoon. It’s the perfect place to stop, relax, and soak up the atmosphere. For the more adventurous, a refreshing dip in the icy waters is an experience to remember!
